‘India is a magical country. It is not possible to choose only one city, therefore I made a small selection of my favourite ones! During a trip with my daughter Myrto to India last January, we landed in our first destination, New Delhi. New Delhi is mostly a business city, with an interesting crowd of people always passing by. It is my paradise for gems and I spend days searching for hidden treasures. My favourite hotel is the Hotel Narain Niwas Palace (hotelnarainniwas.com), where I have been staying for the past 20 years, but lately I discovered a little gem called 47 Jobner Bagh (jobnerbagh.com) – a house situated in the middle of a beautiful garden with a luxurious feel and wonderful service. My favourite restaurant is the Bar Palladio Jaipur (bar-palladio.com), situated on the grounds of Narain Niwas. On the weekends, the best hideaway to relax and recharge your batteries is the Anopura Hotel (anopura.com), a one-hour drive from Jaipur with two private apartments, amazing food and wonderful surroundings. Before leaving India, I always have to stop in Mumbai for a couple of days. The view over the port from my room at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel (taj.tajhotels.com) is beautiful.’
